    DMLR*Newsletter — GOLD Edition no.51
    I. December.
    dmlr.org

Remember why (it's Christmas). If DMLR*News last December came, what would I do? Did I ever find a list of reasons why this project has to survive? I did just plan on leaving without asking for your permission...
It feels like a dream when the end arrives. I gave all that I had but somebody would think I gave just a little...
Has this newsletter been just somewhere in the middle: not too good, not too bad? This is the 10-year newsletter that resists online because accurate knowledge of marketing preserves you from being a consumer without control over what you are eating, drinking, dressing, playing, earing, watching, reading, and touching!
[Breaking news] The Italians are expected to consume food for 2.8 bn Euro just in three days from 24th to 26th December... to celebrate Christmas holidays in 2010.
God bless Italy, home of the SlowFood (www.slowfood.com).

    II. Micromega.
    MicroMega

Don't let nobody bring you down... simply some men aren't fit to rule other men and women. Especially the men owning TV networks, banks and insurances, press and publishing.
(Share the truth, preach the good news!)
Moni Ovadia (www.ovadia.net), Margherita Hack, Roberto Saviano (www.robertosaviano.it), Andrea Camilleri (www.camilleri.net), Luciano Gallino, Marco Travaglio (www.voglioscendere.it), Paolo Flores d'Arcais, Alain Touraine, Zygmunt Bauman, Paolo Rossi. I know these dudes because I went to school --if I didn't I wouldn't have the opportunity to get accurate kowledge of them.
As for MicroMega, the political review is used to host the contributions of those authors. Their most interesting ideas are widely exchanged by the Net users at some related websites... a social network of resistant people!

But not only on these website there are fears that an inept government, not the earthquakes, could damage Italy further: "Allowing L'Aquila to die would be a crime" --Daniele Kihlgren (www.sextantio.it) who's got nothing to do with MicroMega.

    DMLR on Twitter?

Send to your followers on Twitter such a message "DMLR*News is dead! These are the days of wild... on Twitter"

Here I would like to mention the main question in passing, a question asked by MicroMega to all Italians who want to be free. Is the Cinema d'Essay exactly dead? (The political issue has deserved a public round table at the Venice film festival. Now it deserves an answer from these columns).
150thAfter the golden age of the cartoons I began going to the cinema with my father and seeing an amazing production of Italian movies in such theatres as Eliseo, Fiamma and San Paolo in Turin. That way I was introduced to the first/second showing of the 'Trilogy of the $' those years. If I should list the movies that have changed the mainstrean of my life, I should written that Il Buono, il Brutto e il Cattivo --directed by S. Leone, 1966-- stands at the first place because of the abrupt acknowledgement I was out of my childhood. And it's an undisputed masterpiece. Said that, the top ten/eleven list should be compiled in honour of the 150th Italian anniversary coming soon. Only a person like Tatti Sanguineti could say if the following list is even paying homage to the cinema engagé.
Now the plain truth is that dmlr.org is committed to responsible filming. VSSo let's make our own movies like them (www.cinetecadibologna.it).
    • Che Cosa Sono Le Nuvole? (P. Pasolini, 1967)
    • Brancaleone Alle Crociate (M. Monicelli, 1970)
    • Il Caso Mattei (F. Rosi, 1972)¹
    • C'Eravamo Tanto Amati (E. Scola, 1974)
    • Amici Miei (M. Monicelli, 1975)
    • Ginger E Fred (F. Fellini, 1985)²
    • Pensavo Fosse Amore... (M. Troisi, 1991)
    • Il Mestiere Delle Armi (E. Olmi, 2001)
    • Gomorra (M. Garrone, 2008)³
    • Noi Credevamo (M. Martone, 2010)
God bless Italy, home of the Festivals (www.torinofilmfest.org).
PS. If she could be muse to the Italian cinema, it might be for the future of the nation...
Note¹ 1960 Enrico Mattei committed a documentary to director Joris Ivens, 'L'Italia Non è Un Paese Povero', that remains as example of filmed work censored by the RAI TV officials.
    Note² Including the director's cuts...
Note³ Il Caimano (N. Moretti, 2006) to counter with.

    III. List(mania).

The following list contains the names of the people who should be joining the DMLR*News funeral party, but... are you there?

Add the banner above to your profile on Facebook, and link it to this page or send it to your friends, five at least...

[Breaking news] Facebook now has 500m users and is expected to take $1.5bn in revenue. But for its fouder, that's just the start. (www.ft.com)
"You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies" --from The Social Network, 2010.
God bless Italy, home of artists, heretics, creatives.

    IV. Report.

    Minority report!
Maybe 2010 will be remembered as the year of the lists. From A (Assange) to Z (Zuckerberg), without passing up the Falciani's List. We all know the lists of names and sentences are the most wanted and feared thing that flows over the Internet. And a treasure game is always on line everyday! The news system is feeding itself only by this brand new game --since the information is dead.
Forecasting is a perilous business if you mean to the political arena, but not if one refers to the markets news.
[Breaking news] A new high for the gold price is expected in 2011, more precisely a further 20 per cent jump on this upward trending market. (www.ft.com)
I consequently complete this edition with a list you never wanted to ask but I'm writing here at no cost for everyone who's reading the ultimate issue of the GOLD experience.
Discover how one opens doors to the world of the most preciously marketed products, since gold is our agent provocateur... gold pack

Thanks for reading a minority report.

    V. Direct Marketing.

The DIRECT MARKETING glossary is available on DMLR in a 3-document edition (PDF) you can browse here or easily download onto your desktop. It consists of 19 pages as a whole, 311 paragraphs/terms, 236 Kb, 7450 words, 44772 types!
Select and print the three parts of the glossary in English from PDF::Menu.
Sure the Internet has been changing the traditional snail-mail and telephone based direct marketing. And yet the Internet marketing is a consequence of the old direct marketing techniques. Many terms you'll find inside the DM glossary are suiting for the e-mail marketing too.
Other interesting lists of marketing terms? This glossary is focusing on modern direct marketing:

Please read the petition below to help ensure that vital medicines are delivered so that no child is born with HIV by 2015:
By adding our voice, we can show that even in hard times, people around the world still care about those who don't have access to clean water or basic healthcare. The kind of extreme poverty that sees nearly 400,000 children born each year with HIV when this is completely preventable through simple treatment.
We can prevent this --by 2015 we can deliver the medicines so that no child is born with HIV. It starts with all of us asking world leaders to support efforts to make it happen. I've added my name. Please add yours:
    http://www.one.org/international/actnow/nochild/
Together as ONE, we can change the world. I hope you'll sign the petition and join us. We're not asking for your money, we're asking for your voice.
    Thank you.
